HDTV explained: 1080p, 720p, 4K and more

From the standard definition pictures we grew up with, to the 4K TVs that are appearing on the market now, television has been on a remarkable journey, and HDTV is perhaps the most exciting part of it. It has certainly taken a while to reach maturity, and even now we’re only at the beginning, No matter what brand your TV is, if it was made in the last seven years, and is a plasmaOLED or LCD TV it probably supports at least one form of HDTV. Many of them support not only HD, but also 3DTV, in HD too.

If you’re lucky, perhaps even 4K UHD from the likes of Netflix. The story of HD is fascinating, and it’s crucial to understanding where we’re going in the future too, so let’s take a look at what it is, and how it works.
